Founded in 1844 under the visionary initiative of Father Ondajji, St. Thomas’ College, Matara became the cornerstone of the Thomian family of British Catholic schools in Sri Lanka.

The Prefect Board at St. Thomas’ College boasts a remarkable history of more than 165 years, making it one of the oldest Prefect Boards in a Sri Lankan school. Our Prefects are committed to upholding school discipline and creating a positive and orderly environment in the school.
